A lot of people are asking me which applications I'm using on my iphone. As I generaly repeat exactly the same, so I decided I would write a liste. So here it is.
Again, no formating as I'm lazy, just a list, some comments and some links. Enjoy...

iPhone crash when trying to hang up
I have an iPhone 3G and a few times, at the end of a phone call, I couldn't hang up. The display of the phone was turned off and the only way I found to fix this was to reboot the iPhone by pressing the home button and the on button for a few seconds.
After searching on the web for a cause for the crash, I found an answer by TheArquebusier on the Apple discussions page.
In his answer, he was explaining that it was due to the case. He had a case for an iPhone 1st Gen and he was using an iPhone 3G. The iPhone 3G has a sensor on the left of the hear speaker. To see the sensor, call a phone from a dark room and look by the hear speaker for a very dim red light,. The case was covering the sensor and the phone was sometimes not detecting when the phone was not against your hear any more and therefore would still keep the display inactive.
I decided to keep my iPhone cover a Revo by iSkin which I really like (the Revo is supposed to work with the iPhone 3G but it look like the transclucent cover doesn't always work as supposed) so the solution (which seems to work after a few test) was to cut the cover to make the hole a bit wider (in order to uncover the sensor). No I just have to find a sharper blade to make the edge look a little bit better. Here is a picture as it probably will explain much better that many words.

Apple FrontRow
Apple Front row is definitely a fantastic application.
Being able to navigate my iTunes, iPhoto, movies in an easy way is really nice.
but...
Apple could improve it a lot by adding a few very basic features.
Front Row definitely needs to keep the Apple ease of use style. . With a few extra thing. I've tried to use the other options to Front Row (Plex, Boxee) and they offer amazing possibilities, but honestly, I'm a mac user... when I'm on my mac, I want things to be fun and easy. If I want to edit every possible function ,I will go on my Linux. ...and if I want to crash and get frustrated, I will go to work and work on my Windows computer...
Here is a short list of what could be improved:
-Need to be able to present it on show it on an display. I want to us it on my TV. You will tell me it's easy, just use TVRow... Yes I know about it and I already use it. It would just be nice to already have it in Front Row. I don't know why Apple haven't already included this function in Front Row, but it may just be that they are working on it on a different way (ex: next version will work with an Apple TVDisplay, or they just want us to buy an apple TV...)
-I want to be able to use my computer while I'm (or my family is) using front row on my TV/sound system. Again, this function isn't needed if you purchase an AppleTV. but what about people who can't afford yet an apple TV or the ones who think that the AppleTV doesn't have a big enough hard drive???
I think Front Row has a huge potential and is already an fantastic piece of software totally in the line of the others Apple software. It just needs a few minor improvements.

Nokia E61
For the past year, I've been using a Nokia E61 smartphone.
The idea behind this phone is great, many very useful function very close to the Blackberry style...
but...
the realisation is very poor. The phone has a huge amount of very annoying bugs which have never been fixed by a Nokia software update (I've been waiting for it for a year now). Here is a small list of some of the bugs:
-Synchronisation crash. The phone keep crashing when synchronized either with the Nokia software on windows or iSync on mac. The phone itself is crashing and has to be rebooted after every crash. The only fix I found so far is to delete all tasks in the to do list and stop using the function (very annoying for work).
-Keeps deactivating the automatic retrieval of emails every time the phone is loosing the connection. You have to go back in the email settings
amd reactivate it manually.
-Password protecting the external memory card is a very good idea when storing confidential informations on it but if you have soft wares installed on the card, you will have to reinstall them all the time in order to have them working.
-For email, you can assign a group of connection (wifi, gprs...) to try to connect in the right order. But Nokia forgot to add the same function to the web browser. So you either have to select it manually every time you connect or set to the one you have all the time (in my case gprs, which is also the slowest)
-No spell check dictionary
-And even the basic phone function is crap... If you have to contact with the same phone number, then it doesn't display any name when someone is calling you from that number. Come on guys, we are in 2008 and in a normal address book, you will probably end up having at least some people you know who share a phone number in an office or a couple having the same phone n° at home. We are passed the time were you could only store a few numbers in a mobile. My address book has every detail for every contact and as a lot of my friends are married I never now who is calling me if I don't remember the phone n° by heart.
I could understand that a new product has bugs, but I think it would be a minimum from a company such as Nokia to have regular system updates to fix such annoying bugs.
The E61 is ok if you just have it as a private phone, but if you really need a solid solution for work, I would strongly recommend to choose an other phone.
This only thing I know after this phone is that I will probably never buy a Nokia smartphone again. Nokia is releasing regularly very good robust simple phones with excellent basic functions, but based on my experience on this model, it looks like you cannot really ask them the same for Smartphones.
My personal joke about this phone...:
When people tell me the phone is too big and not that nice to handle, I just reply (without saying any lies) that it's quite small... Nokia did a great job in fitting so many bugs in such a small phone...
UPDATE: I got so fed up with my Nokia E61 crashing during so many synchonization that I got an iPhone. And let me tell you, it's like day and night... I now feel I can work again and I don't have to spend hours fixing problems or getting frustrated with my smartphone. The iPhone is not perfect and quite a few improvements can still be done, but it is a fantastic machine and compared with my Nokia experience it's a dream...

Bigl00z3's osx freeware list
Over the years, I spent many hours looking on the web for the best softwares for my mac. If possible I always try to find freeware and open source softwares.
As I keep sending links about those softwares to my friends I decide to compile a list and keep it on my website to allow anybody interested to access it. So there it is. A simple list without any adverts, no pop ups, nothing else than the list.
Enjoy trying them.
